Once again you have surpassed yourselves. We’ve raised over £1300 at our Christmas Fair, 5 November. All reports were positive on the value of what was offered. The Tea and Coffee stall was unbelievably generous. For £1 people could eat as much as they liked of sandwiches and cakes. Don’t know where else you’d get that offer. The feast continued with the other goodies including the Home Baking, Fancy Goods, Tombola, and Book Stalls. The lovely dolly was named and no doubt will make a lovely gift for some young lady. So a huge thanks to all who contributed by donating, helping or turning up on the day.
As our members are so very generous it was good to give them a special thank you on Friday 18 November when we had a delightful evening. Nita Saunders, as always, gave a wonderful and “fragrant” demonstration, another lovely doll found a good home and there were some surprises for lucky “seat” holders. Needless to say there was more than enough food to go round, washed down by tea, coffee etc., the etc. putting a few of us in good spirits to conclude the evening. It was a joy to welcome so many members who now serve as travelling mediums to other churches, returning “home” for the evening.
All this festivity puts us in the mood for the great Festival of Christmas. I do hope you will be able to join us on Sunday, 18 December. It is a Family night and I know the children, as well as singing their own Special carol, love Santa’s visit. After all our hearty singing we can always look forward to a cup of “Festive Cheers” in the tea rooms! There is a fantastic Raffle and it will be drawn on the 18th so be there and join in the Celebrations.
This year we are trying to go green. Instead of giving individual Christmas cards to each other we are putting one card each on the special “Greetings” wall in the church and the money we save on cards and postage will go to charity. Please feel free to “post” on the wall.
